Late last September Metro PCS workers in the East Harlem, NYC retail store voted 8 to 1 to join CWA. Since then they have seen many improvement including a new tone of respect from management and union representation before discipline. However the major improvement will come once the company agrees to a contract. The bargaining committee led by Adrian Dominguez, Senior Sales Rep in the store, is nearing an agreement with the company that will likely include a grievance and arbitration procedure, just cause before discipline, and better scheduling procedures. Negotiations will restart later this month. Follow facebook.com/loweringthebar for updated news.
